Arun Place

The most important design objective in the Arun Place development was to create a corporate environment with a strong sense of place endemic to the Boland. This was achieved through the sensitive use of appropriate massing and materials, reminiscent of traditional Cape Dutch architecture, but with a modern twist. Warmer materials and elements such as planters and timber pergolas are used, giving the buildings a friendly human scale, and the whole development is landscaped and arranged around a pond, giving Arun Place a tranquil, park-like atmosphere.

The office space was flexibly designed to accommodate any office requirement. It is easily accessible, wheelchair friendly and draws maximum benefit from its beautiful surroundings.
Building 1 was completed in 2000, being well situated next to the Vergelegen Medi Clinic, bearing in mind the potential demand for A-Grade office space in this region.

Building 7 was completed in 2001 and was the second building built in the office complex, Arun Place. It features 15 units for which the total GLA surmounts to 1254m². Current tenants include medical specialists, physiotherapists and a dialysis unit.

Building 3 was completed in 2005 and was the fourth building built in the office complex, Arun Place.
It features 8 units for which the total GLA surmounts to 1895m². Current tenants include IT specialists, lawyers, Arun and medical specialists.
Building 6 is the last and flag-ship building in Arun Place. It was designed to offer the best office space available in Somerset West. The curving roadside façade acts not only as a sound barrier, but also as an important visual reference for motorists, ensuring that Arun Place remains a sought after, memorable address. This identity will also be included in the revised gate-house, further establishing this distinctive form in the overall composition of the development.
Arun Place 6 is the first building in the development to include a basement level, naturally ventilated and accommodating 72 parking bays. The ground floor has 661.28m² of rentable office space which can flexibly be divided into offices ranging in size from 75m² to approximately 150m² on average. One of these units also has an outside patio of approximately 42m². The ground floor accommodates the main entrance foyer, lift and staircase.

The first floor accommodates a total of 808.96m² of rentable office space ranging from 75m² to approximately 200m². Some of these offices have step out balconies of 7.5m² from where the views to the beautiful surroundings can be appreciated. This floor also has provision for excellent boardroom space.
The second floor only extends to the Southeast wing of the building and has beautiful views to the surroundings, including ocean views. This floor accommodates 472m² of rentable office space that is ideal for use of a single tenant requiring a larger area.
The floor can be divided into two separate office spaces and opens up onto various balconies.
The restaurant consists of 117.45m² internal floor area with a further 52.25m² external seating area on the deck overlooking the duck pond and landscaped gardens.
